Tropical looking plants for Melbourne

Tropical plants don’t grow well in Melbourne as our climate is too cold and we have wet winters and dry summers where the tropics have dry winters and wet summers. I have put together a list of  plants that when put together look tropical and  grow well in the Melbourne climate. Choose plants with large or glossy leaves to add to the tropical feel. Water features, water falls, rocks (large and small), granitic sand and Balinese statues add to a Tropical theme.
